Baker Hughes has been awarded a contract by BP for offshore production enhancement and wellbore stimulation services in the UK North Sea. The scope of work covers BP’s offshore operations on the UK Continental Shelf, supporting both new well development and enhanced oil recovery from mature fields. Baker Hughes will deploy a vessel based solution to deliver services for subsea completions and production uplift operations.

Baker Hughes explained that the vessel-based operating model offers flexibility in scheduling and operations, supporting efficient stimulation activities. With advanced drilling, completion, and intervention technologies, the company can help operators optimise reservoir performance throughout the well lifecycle. The stimulation solution is designed to improve operational reliability, minimise non-productive time, and enhance recovery rates, supported by a local UK operating base and a well-established supply chain network.
BP’s UK North Sea asset portfolio spans multiple fields, including Clair and Clair Ridge, Glen Lyon, and the Greater Schiehallion area west of Shetland, as well as the Eastern Trough Area Project (ETAP) in the central North Sea – which comprises fields such as Seagull and Mungo – handling a mix of new development projects and mature field production.
Baker Hughes has also recently secured orders in other parts of the world, including an agreement with Searah – an independent joint venture equally owned by Eni and Petronas in Southeast Asia – to supply subsea production systems and digital solutions for one of the major upcoming energy projects in Indonesia.
